Our work holiday party is tomorrow. Yup, tomorrow, January 7th. We always have it after the holidays so it doesn’t conflict with other partys and events - a blessing, I think, for both our guests and the group of us planning it. I took a big step back this year and had some newbies do most of the work. All I did was arrange for us to have a photo booth (naturally). I missed doing the invitations but was just so slammed in December. Next year.

The event is at Hubbard Inn here in Chicago. The space upstairs is incredible and we have it to ourselves from 7-midnight. It’s got kind of a library/macabre/cabinet of curiosities feel. I need to find some good props for the booth. In addition to narcissistic photo snapping, I’ll drink a few classic cocktails, like an Aviation, and socialize with some of my favorite co-workers. 

I’m planning to wear a borrowed dress I wore on NYE but I wish I could wear the Flash Dress from Gryphon’s F2011 collection (if you are an XS/0 it’s on sale at Bergdorf Goodman). I would pair it with some no-longer-for-sale leopard pumps and a bracelet from J.Crew, earrings (and maybe a ring if I’m feeling spendy) from Mocuin and a purse from Olympia Le Tan. You know, if I was skinny and a millionaire.
